Overview

The legend of El Dorado was born by the Spanish conquistadors hundreds of years ago. The location was Guatavitá Lagoon, and the people were the local indigenes Musicas Indians.

On this tour you’ll meet a local guide who will explain to you the true history of the Musicas Indians, their culture, what really did start the legend of El Dorado and why the famous plethora of gold has never been found.

You’ll be driven to the protected natural reserve of Guatavitá, where you’ll enjoy walking for just over an hour through the lush landscape while discovering the real history of this sacred site. You’ll love the view down onto the lagoon and feel the serenity that only this grand crater set in this amazing scene can bring.
