Overview

What To Expect

Once you have arrived in this historical city you’ll enjoy a stroll through some of the stone streets checking out the many artisan shops along with a stroll through the largest plaza (main square) in Colombia, Plaza Mayor.

Next you’ll explore an extraordinary house, completely made out of terracotta that’s claimed to be the biggest piece of pottery in the world. You’ll be amazed at this structure and love walking through the many rooms taking photos from many angles.

From here you’ll visit Monasterio Del Santo Eccehomo; declared part of Colombia’s architectural heritage in 1998, the initial convent was founded in 1620. This is simply a beautiful monastery built on a hillside and consisting of a wonderful cloister, church, cemetery, and plaza, with wonderful views.

Following this, you’ll start the trip back to Bogotá stopping in Ráquira for a quick bit of shopping.
