Overview

This Tour is unique because it connects the anthropological background of the native communities that visited and inhabited and continue to visit these sacred sites. The tour is very unique because as an anthropologist I have immersed myself in these indigenous cultures and have been able to contextualize their traditions, beliefs, and ancestral knowledge to help humanity and more specifically those who participate in this journey to start a healing process with others and with the earth. I will share traditional Quena songs, and will share with you a wonderful lunch and a magical experience.

Plaza Sesquile

We will walk around the plaza of Sesquilé and will have a morning snack.

Laguna de Guatavita

First I will get the tickets for the group and we will enter into a traditional indigenous Muyska Ceremonial Temple (Cusmuy). After we will do a hike to Guatavita Lake and we will travel into the traditional lifestyle of the Chibcha culture, their traditions, subsistence practices, spoken language and examples, among other cultural beliefs. Once we reach the Sacred Lake, we will do a ceremony to thank the Earth and heal our human-nature relationship, resembling the Chibcha tradition of "pagamento" or payment. For this ceremony, each person should bring a special gem, food, or seeds, to offer.

Museo Indigena Guatavita

(OPTIONAL) We will review the history of Guatavita town, starting from the old town and how the new town was created. We will visit the indigenous museum to continue weaving around the topic of the Chibcha culture and its traditions. People will be able to buy some handcrafted products in the plaza of Guatavita

Guasca

We will have lunch in a delicious traditional restaurant, where you can choose between Colombian soups or dishes. We will pass by through Guasca town.

Petroglifos Pajarito

We will walk around the amazing rocks where the petroglyphs were carved. We will immerse ourselves into the geopolitical situation of the indigenous tribe that inhabited this region and make possible interpretations of the meaning that these symbols had. (optional guide from this site can be paid for an extra fee)
