What To Expect

Laguna de Guatavita
Our tour to the sacred lagoon of Guatavita is simply wonderful, on the way we will have a delicious coffee, accompanied by empanada, almojábana and other typical things. The trip is adorned with majestic landscapes. In the lagoon we will have a walk through nature while the guide will introduce you to the life, customs, rituals of the Muiscas and you will learn about the legend of the gold, which speaks of a ceremony of the Muisca tribe to name a new chief (cacique). According to tradition, the new chief used to go to the lagoon on a richly decorated reed raft. His body was completely covered in gold dust, and at his feet was a large pile of gold and emeralds to offer to the gods.

The feeling of peace in this beautiful place is unforgettable.

Guatavita
It is known as the religious capital of the Muiscas. This charming city of less than 2000 inhabitants is rich in history, nature and culture.

With cobblestone streets, totally white houses and a cool climate, one of the most pleasant things to do in the city is to walk admiring its captivating architecture and soak up its magical vibration: a mix between the ancient Muisca culture and the colonial feeling. There is also an indigenous museum full of history that can be visited.
