Overview

On this route we will take you to know the beautiful places of the municipality of Sesquile located north of Bogotá at a distance of 76 km.
Legend has it that in this lagoon the most important and sacred ceremony of the Muiscas was carried out which consisted of the investiture of the new Zipa (Chief and maximum authority of the Muiscas). The new Zipa was in a richly decorated reed raft; his body was completely covered with gold dust; at their feet they put a large pile of gold and emeralds to offer to the gods.
