El Parque Nacional Chingaza, es un tesoro natural y cultural , la magia de sus montañas guarda secretos y pensamientos heredados de los Muiscas y los Guayupes, pueblos indígenas que resguardaban este territorio, así como de comunidades campesinas que habitaron la región hace menos de 40 años. En la actualidad es refugio de fauna y flora de los Andes que revelan al visitante el secreto de la vida. Fue creado en mayo de 1977.
El parque tiene una extensión de 76.600 hectáreas y alturas entre 800 y 4.050 msnm. Posee climas cálido, templado, frío y de páramo. comprende ecosistemas tan variados como humedales, selvas y bosque húmedos. La temperatura oscila entre los 4 y 21,5 °C. Allí nacen los ríos Guatiquía y Frío, y las abundantes lluvias crean lagunas como las de Siecha y Chingaza. En la entrada de la reserva natural, nuestro guía local estará esperándonos, nos llevará a través de los senderos y caminos de este paraíso. El recorrido dura entre 3 y 6 horas, todo depende de tu resistencia.
